I was sitting in my Business Ethics class over a year ago and we were discussing The Lexus and the Olive Tree by Nobel-winning writer Thomas L. Friedman. We had all written short papers presenting examples of our personal olive trees and discussing their significance. When it came my turn to speak I posited the theory that one of America’s olive trees is this notion of the “American” dream and that the "topiary" needed reshaping now that we are living in a globalized era.

After we had finished discussing the idea my professor, George Howard, suggested I write about it.

I decided I would and so began the task of building the proper online space.

It is still a work in progress.
